Sweaty Betty were a hard grafting, hard rocking, heavy band from the Black Country area of the West Midlands of England. Unfortunately, like so many under-rated bands of the era, success eluded them and they never had a commercial release during their active years (1972-1975). Centred around vocalist extraordinaire ‘Rik Staines’ (later of NWOBHM legends Dark Star), Sweaty Betty also featured Budgie drummer Pete Boot who appears here on two tracks. The Sweatier The Bettyer is the first ever official release by Sweaty Betty and is a verified treat for fans of underground 1970s heavy rock.
